Adjunct Faculty – Statistics – Hartford Campus

UConn Hartford seeks academically and professionally qualified instructors to serve as adjunct faculty in a variety of introductory courses starting in Fall 2025 and on.

Centered on teaching, research, and service in and about the global city, the UConn Hartford campus serves a community of approximately 1,600 students, including larger first-generation (49%) and minoritized (50%) populations. The Hartford campus offers undergraduate classes in 36 departments and master’s, doctoral, and certificate programs in four disciplines. Students can complete majors in English, Human Development and Family Sciences, Business Administration, Business Data Analytics, Psychological Sciences, Urban and Community Studies, Digital Marketing & Analytics, and Social Work.

Duties and Responsibilities

Statistics – Course Descriptions.

High demand for STAT 1000Q (Introduction to Statistics I) and STAT 11000Q (Elementary Concepts of Statistics)

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree and teaching experience in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD. or other terminal degree in an area relevant to the field;
  • Previous teaching experience of a relevant course at the college level.

Appointment Terms

Adjuncts are permitted to teach up to eight credits per semester and are paid based on the number of course credit(s), with the possibility of extension depending upon program needs and available funding. Courses are taught in person at the UConn Hartford campus. Compensation for these positions are subject to the AAUP Contract.

Adjunct Faculty – Biomedical Engineering – Storrs Campus

The UConn Biomedical Engineering Department (BME) seeks academically and professionally qualified instructors to serve as adjunct faculty in the Clinical Engineering Internship Program. We are looking for instructors to teach the Graduate courses BME 5040, Medical Instrumentation in the Hospital and BME 5050 Engineering Problems in the Hospital.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MS Degree in Engineering.
  • 5 Years’ experience in the Clinical Engineering department of a major healthcare provider.
  • Experience teaching courses at the Graduate Level.
  • Proven interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degrees or Certifications related to Clinical Engineering.
  • Experience developing and teaching graduate level courses online.

Appointment Terms

This is a temporary position for a period of one semester, with the possibility of extension dependent upon program needs and available funding. Courses are taught online.

Adjunct Faculty – Public Health – Waterbury Campus

The Waterbury Campus seeks an academically and professionally qualified instructor to serve as an adjunct faculty in the area of Public Health starting in Fall 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities

PUBH3001 Introduction to Epidemiology

Provides overview of epidemiological concepts and methods for examining the distribution and causes of health and illness across populations. Stresses the application of epidemiology in advancing health research, disease prevention efforts, and medical care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

An earned Master’s degree and teaching experience in relevant field (e.g., public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, social/behavioral sciences).

Preferred Qualifications

An earned Ph.D. degree with at least six semesters of teaching experience at the college level.

Appointment Terms

This is a temporary position for a period of one semester, with the possibility of extension dependent upon program needs and available funding. Courses are taught in person at the UConn Waterbury campus. Compensation for these positions will be $2,062 per credit, $6,186 per 3-credit course, or $8,248 per 4-credit course. Adjuncts are permitted to teach up to eight credits per semester.
